Following are excerpts of activities reported by the Greene County sheriff’s office:
Friday, April 30: At 8:14 am the sheriff, deputies, and Jefferson fire department responded to a two-vehicle accident on Highway 4 and County Road E-63 (330th St). Anthony Hohne, 29, of Bagley was driving a 2017 Nissan Rogue South on Highway 4. Dennis Pittman, 68, of Jamaica was driving a Case sprayer east on E-63 and did not see Hohne’s vehicle. The Case sprayer hit the Nissan in the passenger side, totaling the Nissan. The damage to the tractor was minimal. The airbags in the Nissan deployed; there were no injuries. Pittman was cited for failure to yield right of way. At 8:39 pm a deputy assisted the Jefferson PD with a traffic stop in the 700 block of Wild Rose Lane. Jamie Solt, 32, of Fort Dodge was arrested for operating under the influence*. At 11:56 pm a deputy investigated a single-vehicle accident on Highway 25 near 237th St south of Scranton. Stefanie Coil, 37, of Jefferson struck a raccoon and then left the scene.
Thursday, April 29: At 7:22 am a deputy investigated a complaint of a barking dog in the 1000 block of Sand St in Churdan. At 8:57 pm a deputy investigated a possible theft in the 200 block of 1st St E. in Grand Junction. At 9:37 pm a deputy investigated a complaint of harassment in the 500 block of County Road P-29 (N Ave) in Dawson Township.
Wednesday, April 28: At 9:50 am a deputy investigated a phone scam in the 1000 block of Sandoe St in Grand Junction. At 3:15 pm a deputy investigated a complaint of trespass in the 100 block of W. Percival St in Rippey. At 3:37 pm a deputy investigated a complaint of a person walking near Casey’s in Scranton with a handgun. A deputy located the Juvenile who had a BB gun in the 900 block of Locust St in Scranton. At 4:20 pm a deputy located the person from the trespass complaint in Rippey on U Ave near 305th St. Andrew Jensen, 38, of Jefferson was arrested on warrants for failure to appear and a violation of terms of condition of release*. At 8:43 pm a deputy investigated a complaint of trespass in the 200 block of 6th St in Grand Junction. At9:34 pm a deputy investigated a complaint of a barking dog in the 900 block of Sand St in Churdan.
Tuesday, April 27: At 7:03 am a deputy investigated a reported fire near County Road E-53 (235th St and O Ave) east of Jefferson. At 8:38 pm a deputy investigated a fire on County Road E-18 (130th St) near County Road P-46 (X Ave) in Paton Township.
Monday, April 26: At 7:48 am a deputy investigated criminal mischief to Seven Hills Park.

Saturday, April 24: At 11:25 am a deputy investigated a complaint of trespass on Kirkwood Avenue near 230th St in Jackson Township. At 8:14 pm a deputy investigated a car-deer accident in the 1700 block of County Road E-53 east of Jefferson. James Groves, 50, of Jefferson struck a deer with a 2012 Volvo S60, causing an estimated $2,500 in damage to the vehicle. At 9:23 pm the Jefferson fire department and a deputy responded to a grass fire on 330th St near K Ave in Greenbrier Township.
Friday, April 23: At 3:59 pm a deputy arrested Jesse Finley, 38, of Jefferson on Guthrie County arrest warrants for operating while intoxicated, possession or carrying dangerous weapons while under the influence, and child endangerment*.
Thursday, April 22: At 7:15 am a deputy investigated a runaway in Dana. At 8:35 am a deputy investigated a theft in the 1400 block of 250th St in Greenbrier Township. At 12:29 pm a deputy investigated a complaint of a vicious dog in the 700 block of Walnut St in Scranton.
Wednesday, April 21: At 12 pm a deputy arrested Johnathan Kennedy, 33, of Carroll on an arrest warrant for failure to appear and violation of pretrial release.* At 1:20 pm a deputy arrested Jason Pirie, 39, of Callender on arrest warrants for possession of a controlled substance- second offense and possession of marijuana- second offense*. At 4:16 pm the sheriff and deputies assisted the Jefferson PD with a child custody issue. At 6:25 pm a deputy assisted a person in Grand Junction who was having a bad day and needed to vent.
Tuesday, April 20: At 6:37 am a deputy attempted to locate cattle out on County Road E-53 (235th St) near Q Ave east of Jefferson. At 10:17 am a deputy investigated a burglary in the 900 block of M Ave in Bristol Township. At 12:35 pm a deputy assisted the Jefferson PD with an arrest.
Monday, April 19: At 2:33 am a deputy was requested to assist with a water issue in a residence in the 900 block of Jay St in Churdan. At 7:30 am a deputy assisted the Des Moines PD with locating a subject in Scranton.
Sunday, April 18: At 2:59 pm a deputy investigated a complaint of illegal shooting on Highway 144 near 190th St north of Grand Junction. At 3:25 pm a deputy assisted the Perry PD with a pursuit near Perry. At 3:58 pm a deputy investigated a burglary in the 1300 block of Hillcrest Ave in Bristol Township.
Saturday, April 17: At 9:58 am a deputy investigated a gas drive off at the Paton Pit Stop.
Friday, April 16: At 8:10 am a deputy investigated a complaint of ducks on the roadway on Highway 30 near Pioneer Ave east of Jefferson. At 9:26 am a deputy investigated a burglary in the 2200 block of B Ave in Willow Township. At 2:02 pm a deputy investigated a complaint of harassment in the 900 block of Lincoln St in Scranton. At 4:21 pm a deputy investigated a complaint of fraud in the 1100 block of Highway 4 north of Jefferson. At 4:58 pm a deputy investigated a complaint of assault in the 100 block of 330th St in Willow Township. At 8:40 pm the sheriff investigated a complaint of theft in the 1800 block of 205th St in Junction Township. At 10:07 pm a deputy investigated a driving complaint on Highway 4 near 305th St. Jason Songer, 41, of Farnhamville was arrested for operating while under the influence*. At 11:53 pm a deputy investigated a car-deer accident on Highway 4 near 190th north of Jefferson. Bryan Camden, 23, of Eagle Grove struck a deer with a 2019 Toyota Tacoma, causing an estimated $4,000 in damage to the vehicle.
Thursday, April 15: At 9:58 am a deputy assisted the Jefferson PD with locating a child who did not show up to school. The child was located on Highway 30 near Granite Ave East of Scranton. At 6:49 pm a deputy investigated a single-vehicle rollover accident on F Ave near 170th St in Kendrick Township. A 17-year-old female was driving a 2009 Honda Fit and lost control of the vehicle. The vehicle rolled twice in the ditch and came to rest on its tires. The driver and a 13-year-old male passenger were taken to Greene County Medical Center by private vehicle with minor injuries. Both were wearing their seatbelts and all airbags deployed. Damage to the vehicle was estimated at $10,000.
Wednesday, April 14: At 6:11 pm a deputy investigated a complaint of criminal mischief in the 300 block of 12th St S. in Grand Junction. At 8:27 pm a deputy investigated a scam in the 400 block of W. State St in Jefferson. At 9:58 pm a deputy investigated a complaint of harassment in the 300 block of Irving St in Scranton.

Monday, April 12: At 6:10 am a deputy investigated a burglary in progress in the 200 block of E. Hager St in Grand Junction. Candice Ortiz, 34, of Grand Junction was arrested for burglary- first degree, theft- fifth degree, and criminal mischief- fifth degree*. At 5:12 pm a deputy investigated a burglary in the 2400 block of 300th St in Washington Township. At 10:34 pm a deputy investigated a complaint of harassment in the 200 block of N. 18th St in Grand Junction.
Sunday, April 11: At 12:10 am a deputy investigated a complaint of harassment in the 900 block of Main St in Scranton. At 8:27 pm a deputy investigated a complaint of harassment in the 700 block of State St in Scranton.

Friday, April 9: At 1:39 pm a deputy and the Jefferson fire department responded to rekindle of a structure fire in the 1400 block of 270th St in Franklin Township. At 2 pm a deputy investigated a no contact order violation by a jail inmate.

Wednesday, April 7: At 12:21 pm a deputy assisted with a house fire in the 1400 block of 270th St in Franklin Township. The Jefferson, Grand Junction, and Scranton fire departments, and Greene County Ambulance responded the fire. The house was a total loss. Red Cross was contacted to assist the family. At 6:06 pm a deputy investigated a complaint of dogs running at large in the 100 block of Howard St in Rippey.
Tuesday, April 6: At 7:03 am a deputy assisted with a child who refused to get out of bed in Rippey. At 2:47 pm a deputy investigated a complaint of trespass in the 400 block of 140th St in Cedar Township.
Monday, April 5: At 1:24 pm a deputy investigated a single vehicle accident on Highway 4 near 280th St south of Jefferson. Benjamin Campbell, 34, of Jefferson was driving a Freightliner dump truck when a front tire blew, causing the vehicle to cross the center line and enter the west ditch. The estimated damage to the vehicle is $20,000. At 8:41 pm a deputy investigated a complaint of criminal mischief in the 300 block of Lovejoy St in Rippey. At 10:09 pm a deputy investigated a car-deer accident on Highway 30 and County Road P-46 (W Ave) east of Grand Junction. Daniel West, 31, of Glidden struck a deer with a 2013 Kia Rio. Damage to the vehicle was estimated at $6,000.
Sunday, April 4: At 1:01 am a deputy investigated a trespass complaint at Wild Rose Casino. Zang Thang, 31, of Indianapolis, IN, was arrested for trespass, public intoxication, obstruction of emergency communications, and interference with official acts- bodily injury*. At 11:09 am a deputy conducted a traffic stop on County Road E-57 (290th St near M Avenue in Greenbrier Township. Samantha Peel, 35, of Perry was arrested for driving while license barred*. At 4:21 pm a deputy investigated a single vehicle accident on Elizabeth and 9th Sts in Grand Junction. Robert Kinnick, 72, of Grand Junction lost control of his 2015 Dodge Ram and struck a light pole. Kinnick was cited for failure to maintain control and failure to provide proof of financial liability. Damage to his pickup truck was estimated at $1,000. Damage to the light pole was estimated at $800. At 4:39 pm a deputy investigated a burglary in the 2300 block of Highway 4 in Franklin Township. At 4:49 pm a deputy investigated a domestic assault in the 600 block of Locust St in Scranton. At 7:27 pm a deputy investigated a complaint from a caregiver of two individuals smoking marijuana in the 400 block of Brackett St in Jefferson. At 11:09 pm a deputy investigated a complaint of criminal mischief in the 300 block of Lovejoy St in Rippey. At 11:57 pm a deputy investigated a two-vehicle accident on W. Vest and Elm Sts. A 17-year-old female was operating a 2018 Ford Focus and struck a parked 2005 Chevrolet Impala. The driver and the owner of the parked car were not named. Damage to the Ford Focus was estimated at $5,000. Damage the parked car was estimated at $4,000.
Saturday, April 3: At 12:21 am a deputy investigated a theft in the 300 block of N. Wilson Ave in Jefferson. At 11 am a deputy investigated an assault in the 700 block of Walnut St in Scranton. At 12:33 pm a deputy investigated a complaint of animal neglect in the 600 block of North St in Churdan. At 10:41 pm a deputy investigated a driving complaint on Highway 144 near 230th St at Grand Junction. Sui Thawng, 36, of West Des Moines was arrested for operating while under the influence*. At 10:41 pm, while conducting the arrest of the intoxicated driver, another vehicle passed by the deputies and a passenger in the vehicle yelled obscenities at the deputies and threw a beer at the deputies. The vehicle was stopped near Grand Junction. Joshua Morgera 23, of Papillion, NE, was arrested for assault on persons in certain occupations*. He was also cited for throwing litter on the highway.
Friday, April 2: At 10:25 am a deputy investigated a complaint of trespass near 185th St and Alpine Ave in Kendrick Township. At 3:04 pm a deputy and the Jefferson fire department responded to an out-of-control grass fire at the intersection of 330th St and Sherwood Ave in Washington Township. At 6:04 pm a deputy investigated a gas drive-off at the Paton Pit Stop. At 9:11 pm a deputy investigated the report of a dog that was struck by a car. The animal was not a dog, but a coyote, which ran when the deputy approached it.
Thursday, April 1: At 9:53 am a deputy investigated a complaint of thick smoke on the roadway on County Road P-33 (S Ave) near Spring Lake in Junction Township.
